Great Sex

Sex in the Shower, Bath, and Beyond

If your sex life is getting a little dry, maybe the answer is to get wet together

Sex in the Shower, Bath, and Beyond

Water has erotic properties of its own, but sex in the shower, bathtub, or even pool can add an exciting new element to your sexual repertoire. You're slippery, you're silly, and opportunities for playful petting abound. Plus, moving sex out of the bedroom is an erotic thrill because breaking free from our comfort zone only helps to heighten our sexual response.

Rub-a-Dub in Your Tub
Making love in the bathroom gives you plenty of privacy, unlike some other locations around your home. Plus, sharing a bubble bath together is one of the easiest ways to create romance. The warm water delivers total relaxation for you and your partner, and aromatic soaps and oils work wonders on your skin and your mood. Light a few candles and you have the ultimate sensual situation.

Seated positions work great in the tub. Inherently sexy and intimate, straddling your partner allows you to look in his eyes or kiss deeply. Also, a waterproof pillow can provide a world of comfort. Put it behind your head if he's on top, or use it to cushion him when you're on top. You might even try it for some gentle clitoral stimulation; use your imagination!

Steam Up the Shower
If you opt for a shower, start by washing each other from head to toe. Lather up a washcloth or sponge and get all your parts squeaky clean. Washing each other's hair can be highly erotic, too. Gently scrub his scalp with your fingertips for an excellent massage, then let him show your locks a little love and attention. A shower bench can make having sex easier, but there are plenty of positions to try standing up. From-behind positions are great for small spaces. Turn up the heat a notch by using a handheld shower to stimulate yourselves, or use your bodies to create a sudsy lather between the two of you.

For extra lubrication, try a non-water-based lubricant that won’t wash away when the shower is turned on. Just remember, not every lubricant is safe with condoms. Silicone-based lubricants are safe for latex condoms, but oil-based lubricants are not.

Swimming Without a Bathing Suit
Sometimes we need to put ourselves back in seemingly silly situations to remember how liberating and sexy you can feel when you lower your inhibitions. Skinny-dipping is the ultimate vacation fantasy. Whether it’s in a lake, the ocean, or even a hotel pool, try to break away with your partner for a midnight dip wearing only your birthday suits.

Since we don’t always have the luxury of taking a sexy swim and most of our lives aren’t spent traveling, try to unleash some of that sexy vacation energy in your everyday life. If your neighbors are out of town, why not try a sprinkler skinny-dip? Running naked through a sprinkler in your backyard is about as erotic (and daring!) as it gets. Soak up the playfulness of the moment to add some magic, adventure, and spontaneity to your relationship.
